PUBLISHER AND COLUMNIST HERBERT KEPPLER, THE CROTON CONNECTION---who died in 2008....After WWII, Keppler was a photojournalist for The Sun (New York) and worked for the Fairchild Fashion Media trade magazine Footwear News, but found his calling, when he in 1950 became an Associate Editor at the photographic magazine Modern Photography. In 1956 he became Executive Editor of the magazine, then Editor and Publisher in 1963 and Editorial Director and Publisher in 1966. FROM 2015--A CROTON EPIPHANY TALE---AND REMEMBER, JANUARY 6TH IS THE FEAST OF THE EPIPHANY OR LITTLE CHRISTMAS, THE BAPTISM OF THE LORD

BY SPECIAL REQUEST--a re-posting from 2015: There was some excitement at Holy Name of Mary's life-sized outdoor nativity this morning. Read on...

A note from Holy Name....Baby Jesus went missing from the Nativity scene in front of the Church on this snowy morning.  The police were called and a police report was submitted. This had happened before, back in 2012. We never got the baby Jesus back then, and had to purchase a replacement.

But this time was different... the baby hadn't actually been stolen.

It was 'relocated'.

Someone thought the Baby might need a break from hanging with the sheep, and would be happier in the arms of his 'godfather', a wise man who had come to leave Him a gift. (click on the photo).

The police were very understanding.

Blessings on the Epiphany and on Sunday 1/6: the baptism of the lord.

NEW YEAR'S EVE TERRORIST ATTACK, NEW ORLEANS

At least 10 people were killed and dozens injured after a terrorist rammed a truck into crowds on the famed Bourbon Street in New Orleans before jumping out and shooting cops — just hours after the city rang in the New Year, according to officials. “The city of New Orleans was impacted by a terrorist attack,” Mayor LaToya Cantrell said of the carnage early Wednesday — with the FBI soon confirming it was investigating it as “an act of terrorism.” The unidentified driver, who police said was “hellbent” on “carnage,” was shot and killed in a gun battle with cops, confirmed the FBI, which was also investigating possibly improvised explosives left at the scene.
