Charity auditors have expressed alarm at the management of Black Lives Matter's $60 million in donations, after it emerged that people announced as leading the organization never took up the role, and no one seemed able to say who was handling the finances. Wake held at St. Patrick’s for slain NYPD cop Jason Rivera -- NYPD Police Officer Jason Rivera is getting a hero’s farewell at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.   Thousands of mourners are expected to flood Midtown Thursday — first responders and civilians alike — for the wake of the slain cop at the historic Manhattan church. The body of the 22-year-old cop — which arrived at the historic church at about 11:30 a.m. — will lie at the foot of the altar with his photo alongside an NYPD flag made of flowers. As of January 15, 522 local municipalities have filed local laws with the New York Secretary of State to opt-out of retail sales & on-site consumption of cannabis, while an additional 75 have only opted out of on-site consumption.  Three municipalities have opted out of retail sales.

Today, it's exactly 32 years ago that Ava Gardner (1922-1990) passed away. She was considered one of the most beautiful women of her day. In 1941, 19-years-old Ava signed a contract with MGM. After her screen test, the director had clapped his hands gleefully and yelled, "She can't talk! She can't act! She's sensational!" Ava appeared in small roles and on pin-up photos until she drew everybody's attention in The Killers (1946). She became one of Hollywood's most glamorous stars but was also nominated for the Oscar for Best Actress for Mogambo (1953). From then till the 1970s, she appeared in several high-profile films, both in Hollywood and Europe. On 25 January 1990 she died at the age of 67.
