ROBERT SCOTT'S CHRONICLES OF CROTON'S BOHEMIA CONTINUES - THE BITTER FIGHT FOR WOMEN'S RIGHTS

Welcome to EverythingCroton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

THE LATEST INSTALLMENT OF ROBERT SCOTT’S CHRONICLES OF CROTON’S BOHEMIA: THE BITTER FIGHT FOR WOMEN’S RIGHTS

Croton’s own Robert Scott has done it again; read about three remarkable women who took part in the fight to gain women the right to vote by organizing, exposing male oppression and defying the law. Their names were Inez Milholland, Crystal Eastman and Doris Stevens. They had several qualities in common. They were all passionately devoted to the cause of women's suffrage. We were delighted to see that our own FAMILY CHRISTMAS ONLINE got a mention in a recent article on Christmas trees and trains! Click on the link! http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/340515

We've really gotten bitten by the house shaped cookie tin bug when we saw all the BIG LOTS tins collected at Ed Berg's site; so when we came across this at a local thrift shop for a song we had to snap it up. It's not vintage but we love it!  Click on the photo. See all the BIG LOTS TINS courtesy of Ed Berg, here--just keep scrolling down the page once you get there: http://toyconnect.blogspot.com/search?q=big+lots+tin

Reader Lynn reminded us about how much great Christmas stuff is at Victoriana magazine--including putz! Shown in the picture at the link below are vintage Dolly houses:

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

To us, the Croton Dam is never more beautiful than it is in the winter (click on the photo)--and we never tire of looking at it in the snow and ice especially.

We also marvel at what it took to build; click on the link below, a blast from the past with Robert Scott:  http://notorc.blogspot.com/2009/04/old-croton-acqueduct-engineering-marvel.html
