CROTON MEMORIES 2012, THE DUCK POND THEN & NOW

Welcome to EverythingCroton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Continuing our 2012 CROTON MEMORIES SERIES here at Everything Croton: CROTON’S DUCK POND—THEN & NOW

We couldn’t resist posting this charming entry on the Duck Pond from the 1973 edition of the Croton-Cortlandt News - detailing the construction of a “duck house” by local citizen volunteers Ed Braddick and Ray Calore to keep those feathered friends warm in the winter months. Click on the photo, guaranteed to make you smile. (And of course many thanks to the Croton Historical Society as always. Visit http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2012/05/on-sale-from-croton-historical-society.html for all the latest news.)

To see the excellent work our citizen volunteers have done with Duck Pond now--click on the link: http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2012/05/spring-at-duck-pond.html

  2. True but now we have turtles and muskrats. Haven't seen those in that pond in a long time.
