SOME PHOTOS FROM THE 2014 EAGLEFEST

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Some photos from today's 2014 Eaglefest...and the eagles did not disappoint. By far the most amazing location was once again at Georges Island: 29. The Verplank waterfront a.k.a. Steamboat Dock, wasn't far behind with 22 eagles on the ice flows. Croton's Boat Launch, also a viewing location, sported 4 in the morning hours. The incinerator at Charles Point a.k.a. China Pier, had 14. At Croton Point, Croton's own FEED THE BIRDS was an exhibitor and festival collaborator, while RiverLovers and Ferry Sloops teamed up to serve food to the vendors and volunteers, among them Croton's EMS.

  2. I was very disappointed to see that you could no longer pay five dollars to get into the tent and if you wanted to see the show, pay extra. In other words, the entry was now a whopping fifteen dollars. While it was less for the kids, still too expensive, and I suppose I should have checked first, I won't be coming back again any time soon. I know everything costs money but not only did I leave with two disappointed children, so did many others while I was there.

    1. So glad someone else but me noticed this. On top of the deer killing, this was a big disappointment. I just couldn't afford it and take the kids for lunch in the village so we had some photos taken with the guy in the eagle costume, drove over to Georges Island to look at some eagles and then went to the old Gabe's. I managed to put a positive spin on it for the kids but having more reasonably priced options for families like they used to have would have been better. If they do this again next year I just won't be able to go.
