As you may know, the village's 2013-2014 budget is available online.
What was NOT available online, however, was the "Payroll/Salary & Fringe Benefit Analysis".
This is what the League of Open Government in Croton had to say on the subject:
LOGIC - League for Open Government In Croton "The
village decided not to include the Payroll and Fringe Benefit Analysis
in the budget documents that it posted online, explaining that they
could instead be found in the library, or in the village office, or that
they could be obtained via FOIL request. Making the public FOIL the
documents strikes us as a ridiculous waste of time and resources."

Fortunately for those of us who can't take time off from work or our busy schedules to view these documents at the municipal building or the library, L.O.G.I.C. has done what the village would not--without a FOIL request that is. ReplyDeleteWhat shameful behavior. They are so out control and the people who keep voting for them obviously don't mind having their pockets picked. We won't be retiring here that's for sure. Thanks for the info Logic. Linda
