MORE CROTON MEMORIES: WWII, THE WOMEN WHO SERVED

Welcome to EverythingCroton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

INTRODUCING CROTON MEMORIES, a new series that will focus on Croton from the 1940's through the 1970's, more or less.

WWII, THE WOMEN WHO SERVED: We’ve been meaning to do something like this for a long time—collect information on at least some of the many women from Croton who served in the military during World War II. We were also sent some ephemera, ads and the like, from a local resident whose grandmother was a Cadet Nurse.

Click the link to see only a fraction of the women who stepped up to the plate right here in Croton, again courtesy of THE CROTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY. We’ll let the photos and articles do the talking. We’ll also be featuring more on this subject in the months ahead: http://www.flickr.com/photos/22283683@N07/sets/72157627590122757/
