ABOUT THOSE DIVERSITY, INCLUSION MANDATES: CALIFORNIA'S DIVERSITY MANDATE FOR CORPORATIONS RULED UNCONSTITUTIONAL

Not unexpected.....read more below:

A California judge ruled that the state's diversity law requiring corporations to have racial minorities or members of the LGBTQ+ community serve on their board of directors was unconstitutional.   The judge, who handed down the ruling Friday, concluded that the law violated California's constitutional equal protection clause, according to a summary judgment granted to Judicial Watch, a conservative legal group that filed a permanent injunction against the measure.   Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement to The Associated Press that the decision "declared unconstitutional one of the most blatant and significant attacks in the modern era on constitutional prohibitions against discrimination."

IN THE NEWS - MSN, MORE ABOUT FAUCI AND THAT VANITY FAIR EXPOSE--INVESTIGATORS CLAIM THAT FAUCI SHUT DOWN ALL COVID-19 LAB LEAK THEORIES

Investigators claim Fauci shut down all COVID-19 lab leak theories---America's coronavirus tsar, Dr. Anthony Fauci, silenced any discussion about COVID being caused by a lab leak - and not through animal-to-human transmission - after helping a controversial scientist get millions in federal funding to study bats, a Vanity Fair investigation has revealed.

Analyzing more than 100,000 leaked documents, the magazine claimed that Fauci's approval of Peter Daszak helped his nonprofit, EcoHealth Alliance, an organization dedicated to shielding society from emerging infectious diseases, to develop the COVID-19 virus in a laboratory in China.  They also claim researchers associated with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, including Daszak, tried to hide evidence about the pandemic’s early spread as lab leak hypotheses began to emerge.

While the report is not conclusive in how the pandemic was started, the magazine provides evidence that Daszak was aware the gain-of-function research his organization conducted was 'risky' and that he neglected to provide transparency about his projects to the U.S. government, as promised.

And the VANITY FAIR ARTICLE ITSELF:

EXPLOSIVE ARTICLE FROM VANITY FAIR: "THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN": INSIDE THE VIRUS-HUNTING NON-PROFIT AT THE CENTER OF THE LAB-LEAK CONTROVERSY
On June 18, 2021, an evolutionary biologist named Jesse D. Bloom sent the draft of an unpublished scientific paper he’d written to Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief medical adviser to the president of the United States. A bespectacled, boyish-looking 43-year-old often clad in short-sleeved checkered shirts, Bloom specializes in the study of how viruses evolve. “He is the most ethical scientist I know,” said Sergei Pond, a fellow evolutionary biologist. “He wants to dig deep and discover the truth.”

The paper Bloom had written—known as a preprint, because it had yet to be peer-reviewed or published—contained sensitive revelations about the National Institutes of Health, the federal agency that oversees biomedical research. In the interests of transparency, he wanted Fauci, who helms an NIH subagency, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), to see it ahead of time. Under ordinary circumstances, the preprint might have sparked a respectful exchange of views. But this was no ordinary preprint, and no ordinary moment.

More than a year into the pandemic, the genesis of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, was still a mystery. Most scientists believed that it had made the leap from bats to humans naturally, via an intermediary species, most likely at a market in Wuhan, China, where live wild animals were slaughtered and sold. But a growing contingent were asking if it could have originated inside a nearby laboratory that is known to have conducted risky coronavirus research funded in part by the United States. As speculation, sober and otherwise, swirled, the NIH was being bombarded by Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuits. Fauci himself needed a security detail, owing to death threats from conspiracy theorists who believed he was covering up some dark secret.

Bloom’s paper was the product of detective work he’d undertaken after noticing that a number of early SARS-CoV-2 genomic sequences mentioned in a published paper from China had somehow vanished without a trace. The sequences, which map the nucleotides that give a virus its unique genetic identity, are key to tracking when the virus emerged and how it might have evolved. In Bloom’s view, their disappearance raised the possibility that the Chinese government might be trying to hide evidence about the pandemic’s early spread. Piecing together clues, Bloom established that the NIH itself had deleted the sequences from its own archive at the request of researchers in Wuhan. Now, he was hoping Fauci and his boss, NIH director Francis Collins, could help him identify other deleted sequences that might shed light on the mystery. PRESS RELEASE, CROTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY: ALICE LEIGHNER PHOTO ARCHIVE DONATED TO THE CROTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton-on-Hudson: our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship -- in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

ALICE LEIGHNER PHOTO ARCHIVE DONATED TO THE CROTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY

(CLICK ON THE PHOTOS AND LINKS)

A large collection of 35mm photographic negatives, mostly taken for the Croton-Cortlandt News and the North County News in the 1970s and early 1980s, has been donated to the Croton Historical Society by the estate of Alice Leighner.

Leighner passed away February 16, 2022 in Meriden, Connecticut. She and her husband, Leslie, moved to Croton in 1969 and lived here until 1985. Alice graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1962 with a BA in Journalism and received her MS degree in Journalism from Ohio University in 1967. In the 1970s she started writing for the Croton-Cortlandt News, later becoming the paper’s social editor and photographer.

In addition to the negatives and related material, the donation included framed photos she took of Pete Seeger and Aaron Copland, each inscribed and signed by them to Alice.

Most of the negatives have notes on the glassine sleeves or index cards, indicating the subject matter of the photos. Cataloging, scanning and archiving the collection will be a major undertaking. After an initial assessment has been completed the Croton Historical Society will start a campaign to raise funds to scan the negatives and convert them to positive images so they can be shared with the public.

Tom Simone, President of the Croton Historical Society, said, “We are grateful to receive Alice’s treasure-trove of photographic images of Croton. She was ‘the lady about town’ who captured so many local events with her camera. This will be an incredible record of Croton-on-Hudson during the 1970s and early 1980s."

Village Historian Marc Cheshire said, “This is an important and exciting donation. We suspect that many of Alice’s photos were never published due to space limitations. She may have shot an entire roll of film of an event, but only one photo was used.”

Founded in 1972, the mission of the Croton Historical Society is to discover, collect, preserve and share the rich history of the village of Croton-on-Hudson. The society’s archival collection includes newspapers, maps, photographs, yearbooks and one of the largest collections of photographs and other material documenting the construction of the New Croton Dam.
