10/19 BD. OF TRUSTEES MEETING AGENDA, ACCESSORY APT. LAW CHANGES & MUCH MORE

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

The agenda for Monday's 10/19 Bd. of Trustees meeting is now online. (Starts at 8 pm, Channel 78 cable access). On it is a public hearing regarding changes to the accessory apartment law.

A resident has submitted written comments in a letter (also in this week's Gazette) and asked that this be entered into the public hearing record. Click on the image to read the letter.

You can see the entire meeting agenda here, which also includes some interesting info about your potentially new utility provider in a letter from the mayor; click on the link http://bit.ly/1VZ4V3M

  1. I have never been clear why we jumped like this to satisfy HUD when we don't have to. The house next to my sister has one family in it and they have four cars. Now they're thinking about turning the basement into an apartment. Street parking is already a mess and besides. Zoning is a contract that you enter into with your municipality when you buy a house. My sister and I bought into a single family zoned area for a reason. Code enforcement is also a problem in the village.

  2. Lots of people feel zoning is like a contract but things change. We have room for two accessory apartments. Do you know if we can do that?

    1. You will need to check with the village directly. Bear in mind your neighbors may have standing.
