First up, an interesting little made in Japan toy, featured in a previous auction at SeriousToyz;
we don't know what we like better--the fan or the graphics on the box!
Here are the details: "Baby Electric Fan", 1950s, Japan, 6", tin w/u w/
oscillating action, NM in C8.5 box w/ insert; a ‘cool’ & unusual
tin toy, wind-up....It's followed by request for an oldie but goodie---some repros of the houses from the Dolly Toy Co.
While
most cardboard Christmas houses a.k.a. putz houses were made in Japan
and or Germany, the Dolly Toy Co. here in the U.S. did produce a line of

Fast
forward----putz artisans Howard and Lynn put together patterns
including the doors and windows for the Dolly Houses--so the more
adventurous among us can make our own true to the original copies.

AND FROM TOYS & STUFF: Sunday, January 17, 2021--A GIANT of the Toy Industry - My Favorite Toys as a Kid (Kid = 1950's to present)--Bet you thought it was Marx right? Not this time :-) Over the past several years I have been buying - and occassionally photographing - toys made by Giant Plastics Corp of Hong Kong as well as clones made by YF, Lucky Clover, and unbranded offerings - all of them most likely using the original Giant tooling. Helen of Toy was also a big player in the HO scale market and some of their offerings were all new tooling and differed from Giant's designs. Marx did have an excellent line of miniature playsets as well, however, their figures were 30mm which is larger than HO scale.
