Click on the photo. With thanks to an Everything Croton elve for forwarding. You can read more about the controversy surrounding this mural here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_at_the_Crossroads

MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON
So pleased to report that Linda's aunt--soon to be 99 years old next week--wove her usual Christmas putz village magic in 2014.
We'll be posting more pix soon.
To the right, are the uncle's handmade log cabins which Linda has also used in the past--they're from the 1940's. And as usual, Auntie did all the set-up herself. (Linda lent a hand with the cotton and the lights.) Can't wait to show you more. Proof positive that you are never too young--or too old--to "putz"! Click on the photo.
And if you like "loggies": https://www.flickr.com/photos/22283683@N07/sets/72157636179233783

CROTON BOARD FOLLOWS THE LEAD OF EVESHAM, NEW JERSEY'S MAYOR, COMMON CAUSE BE DAMNED
AND NOW A WORD FROM CROTON UNITED: We seldom post news from outside of our village, but this story
caught our eye. It concerns the mayor of Evesham, New Jersey, who has
advised residents that they will no longer be allowed to ask questions
of the town board at public meetings. Rather, they will be permitted to
"make comments only." Apparently the mayor's decision has sparked a
firestorm in the township and has alarmed government watchdogs, such as
the nonpartisan citizens’ action group, Common Cause.
Why is this story of note? It's because as of January 2015, our village board has quietly decided to follow the same policy as the mayor of Evesham. According to the board, citizens who attend regular board meetings are permitted to make comments only; questions that the board prefers not to answer, they simply ignore. To underscore this change, the board has changed its meeting agendas from including sections for “citizen participation” to including sections called “public comment”. Why the name change? Because, according to the village manager, calling that portion of the meeting public comment “more actually identif[ies] the purpose of that portion of the meeting.”

MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON
It's true: we dislike a lot of what is on network television these days...but love being able to re-visit childhood shows on cable...and we're surprised how well many hold up for a new generation of fans.
While MY FAVORITE MARTIAN is among the missing--it starred Ray Walston and Bill Bixby--hope springs eternal. To the right is a little Golden Record, 1964; the A side is the “Martian Theme Song” and, B is “When I Was A Boy On Mars”. Featured in a previous auction @ Croton's own SeriousToyz, it sold for $42.55 - for more about this fab auction house, visit www.serioustoyz.com
It's followed by another toy tie-in to the show, MARTIAN MAGIC TRICKS BY GILBERT, also 1964; it sold @ a recent SeriousToyz auction for $158.
And that's followed by one of our favorite putz houses from Howard Lamey (we have so many!!!) of littleglitterhouses.com
It's just another great example of what can be done with Paul's building "textures". To get inspired, click here
And finally you just can't keep Rob and Monica down--no matter what the weather, if there's a "sale-ing" adventure to be had, they'll go for it.
Check out their latest find: An angel lighted tree topper.
We think--but are not 100% certain--that it's a 50's piece. If anyone can confirm, please do.
Click on the photos and enjoy.
And check out what else they found in their latest posting: "CHOICES" http://bit.ly/1wITyvo
P.S. The annual Asbury Methodist Spring Tag Sale date has been set for 4/25; stay tuned for more details.
And a lost Christmas song--with article and link to Rosemary Clooney singing it http://www.familychristmasonline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=63
