& FOR TRAIN LOVERS ONLY, OUR FIRST POSTING FOR 2014

With many thanks to Tom H. for alerting us to this amazing YouTube German model railroad---and much more---set-up; Tom says: A short review, it was started by two brothers as a place to show their hobby, it started growing by leaps & bounds. Soon they were joined by other 'Model Railroad Clubs' and other craftsmen. Some were electricians, model makers, Carpenters, computer programmers. Their wives would stop by to see what they were doing and usually bring them a lunch. One thing led to another. Three of the ladies had worked at a bakery, several visitors would ask if they had a snack bar. The Idea was planted; some of the carpenters came and built a nice restaurant area for the bakery and a kitchen too. If the fresh Coffee smell didn't get you, then the bakery definitely would. This was about 5 years ago. One of the Breweries came and furnished all of the tables and chairs, serving counter and, etc. Their latest finished area is the airport. Planes look like they are flying and landing.

RARE VINTAGE FIND: KELLOGG'S ALL-BRAN CEREAL MODERN HOME KITS

We've talked about a great old film from time to time called MR. BLANDINGS BUILDS HIS DREAM HOUSE...starring Cary Grant and Myrna Loy (click on the link http://bit.ly/KmgHlW)

So we were delighted when Carol sent us the following link from Toys and Stuff:

"In 1948 Kellogg's produced a set of what has now become one of the hardest to acquire American-made cardboard houses. They were called the 'Kellogg’s Modern Home Kits' and were available through mail order on boxes of Kellogg's 'All-Bran' cereal. Today Toys and Stuff is proud to bring you the 'Blandings Dream House' based on the movie “Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House” starring Cary Grant, Myrna Loy, and Melvyn Douglas.
