As we unpack the vintage Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Autumn decorations (actually among Croton collectors, we started in August!), we were reminded about all the machinations we go through to find display space for our holiday collections--and protect them from house pets and children! And even more so at Christmas time! We stash objects, cover them, empty mantles and cabinets, and move furniture around as if we were Hercules.
And now a little reminder: We've come up with some clever ideas over the years but never more so than our friend Scotty, who displays his vintage and vintage-inspired putz village in the most fantastic way--click on the photo, then see some great close-ups at this link for inspiration http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-ultimate-christmas-tree-putz.html
and of course Dianne's cabinet putz again http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2013/12/diannes-2013-vintage-christmas-putz.htm

Wow that is so clever. Your readers might like to know that if they are really pressed for space, Christmas trees are being made to fit into corners and are slender and tall. We have one that enables us to have a tree and a village in a corner we empty every year by moving a tall bookcase to the left. These corner trees are angled to fit in nicely. Also they have trees that are flatbacked! Just google to find them.
