OF JELLYBEANS, PEEPS & CHOCOLATE BUNNIES

As we approach jellybean and chocolate bunny season, the following links just somehow seemed right!

Old time candy just as you remember it and still around today--broken out by decade. We're staying away from the jaw breakers, taffy and Zagnut--owing to a lifetime of dental work! Click on the link and step back in time http://www.oldtimecandy.com/

EVERYTHING CROTON'S FABULOUS CRAFT FIND OF THE WEEK

Collectors of the older Made in Japan Christmas putz houses know that the most prized are the "coconuts" so named because of the coconut-like texture. For years, we've wondered what that stuff was made of--and those of us who make houses from scratch have tried to duplicate its effect with only modest success.

Happy days! Pete Oehmen is now producing--drumroll please--COCONUT! Yes, this is it folks. The real thing! And he's selling it in two ounce packages for $6.95. Even better, he's color matching it to the colors used at the time by referencing his extensive collection of original coconut putz houses.

The product is designed and used for covering vintage and modern Christmas Putz houses. It can also be used for creating a textured finish to many art projects. p.s. Coconut gets its name from its resemblance to shredded coconut. Application instructions will come with your order, as well as a coconut house trading card (some real beauties here!)

To order--and you can discuss colors--and or custom color possibilities with Pete directly--email him at oehmen@sbcglobal.net

GREAT VINTAGE FIND OF THE WEEK: 1930's "STANDARD PLUMBING FIXTURES FOR THE HOME"

Admittedly incomplete, this catalog--discovered at a local tag sale--is still quite a find for fans of the 30's, those renovating a period bathroom or kitchen, or just for good old fashioned fun. The color schemes alone are worth the visit. CLICK ON THE LINK http://www.flickr.com/photos/22283683@N07/sets/72157626303575886/
