CROTON-HARMON AMONG 19 NAMED "REWARD SCHOOLS"

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

LO HUD: CROTON-HARMON AMONG 19 NAMED "REWARD SCHOOLS" - Nineteen schools in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties were identified as Reward Schools, according to the state Education Department.  Reward Schools have the highest performances on English language arts and math tests for two consecutive years or have shown the biggest gains on those exams over one year, while also having small achievement gaps between certain groups of students, like those from low-income families, and students not in those groups. http://www.lohud.com/story/news/education/2017/05/26/2017-reward-schools-lower-hudson-valley/349656001/

Reuse of Indian Point Site Decades Away after Closure, May 23, 2017 By Rick Pezzullo - Decommissioning of the Indian Point nuclear power plants in the Village of Buchanan and any potential reuse of the 240-acre site is likely decades away after the planned shutdown in 2021.

There is no one size fits all recipe that tells you what you should be done,” remarked Twomey...READ THE REST HERE  http://www.theexaminernews.com/reuse-of-indian-point-site-decades-away-after-closure/
