MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

So there I am in Walmart at the suggestion of a friend, desperately trying to find the larger fuses for my C-9 vintage light strings--when I spot these large--10 inch X 13 inch plaques--featuring repro Coca-Cola Sundblom inspired Santa Claus illustrations. Finished with a light crackle craze and only ten dollars each, you know I had to come home with at least one. By the way, they did have the larger fuses. My only other option would have been to order them online.

Click on the photo. They also had a plethora of bottle brush trees.

Speaking of Sundblom Santas, an oldie but goodie  http://viewlinerltd.blogspot.com/2007/12/twas-night-before-christmas.html

OSSINING'S COACH JOHN COVERT, THE CROTON CONNECTION

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton -- our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools -- in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

A fascinating story: John Covert’s influence as a coach during his Ossining High School tenure extended beyond the boundaries of the Town of Ossining. One of Croton-Harmon High School’s premier runners, a state champion, Bob Cook, petitioned his coach to allow him to train with the Ossining runners under Covert. Unusual?  Yes. Successful?  Very.
