As you may recall, residents only learned that Greentree Realty, owner of the 1A Croton Point Avenue site, was attempting to re-open the garbage/waste transfer site (and was suing the village), through the freedom of information process/going to White Plains for the public filings. You can read more about the board's secrecy--in their own words--(Mr. Wiegman and Ms. Gallelli)--below with a link to the documents obtained back in February '14:

At the 9/15/14 board meeting tonight, an attorney representing Greentree informed the board that Greentree would be applying for a special permit to re-open the site. Village attorney Staudt stated that he had advised the board not to say anything because the site was the subject of active litigation.
Is the board cutting a deal or has the board already cut one? Only time will tell. Yet another foil request will be filed for the most recent legal paperwork/public filings. Perhaps there are some answers there.

ReplyDeleteMany thanks. What happened with the village manager's contract? I got in too late to see what they did.
ReplyDeleteIt was not voted on at the present time. There was some opposition. I am awaiting further details.
Deletefyi: Two conflicting comments have been left at E.C. anonymously about the manager's contract. As soon as it can be confirmed which is accurate, that one will be posted.

DeleteAfter the last battle, WHICH WENT ON FOR A DECADE, what a tremendous slap in the face this would be to all the residents and businesses who've made their homes here.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how much discussion about this has already occurred.
