UNIT CITATION, WESTCHESTER REGIONAL EMS COUNCIL AWARDS CEREMONY, CROTON

At the May 17th annual Westchester Regional EMS Council Awards Ceremony, several members of the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department received a “Unit Citation” for their actions taken to assist Croton On Hudson Emergency Medical Services and Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps at a medical emergency last August. Croton Fire was called by EMS to help remove a bariatric patient from their home who was experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency. FD & EMS personnel worked together to remove the patient - using a rope, ladder and Stokes basket - into an Ambulance where a Paramedic and EMTs helped render care that ultimately saved that person’s life.
