A NOTE FROM THE CROTON FIRE DEPARTMENT: It is with a heavy heart that the Chiefs, Officers and Members of the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department announce the passing of Department Chaplain John “Jack” Coyne, a 49 Year Member, Past Captain and Secretary of Croton Fire Patrol No. 1. John passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. He was 81 Years Old.
John provided the department with his spiritual guidance at nearly every memorial event that this department has experienced for many, many years. To say his presence will be missed is an understatement, and we will ensure his legacy will live on here in the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.
In addition to his volunteer contributions to Croton Fire Patrol and the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department, John also served many years with the Putnam-Northern Westchester Fire Police Association and the Westchester County Volunteer Firemens Association, among others.
