We do not meet the demographics for a Trader Joe's unfortunately. This was acknowledged in a previous village meeting back in 97 or 98. As for Thai food, we've heard that a take-away may open in either Montrose or Buchanan; will keep you posted.
I stumbled across the most inane site today that asks why a Trader's Joe isn't in Croton. After all Chappaqua has one. Uh, these people seem to think that Croton is Chappaqua. CHAPPAQUA IS WEALTHY. WE ARE NOT. Also Trader's Joe has very specific demographics and if you look on the web, we don't meet ANY OF THEM.
So let's stop pretending we're Chappaqua when we're a town that welcome low income housing, two family zoning, doesn't support the upscale places when one does move here, and be grateful we're getting GREEN AND GRAIN.
Whole Foods hasn't opened yet. It has however been approved for Chappaqua Crossing. Paste this link into your browser http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/1001239
Like TJ's, WF has very specific requirements in their siting process.
Could you please provide the link where you saw this discussion you mentioned previously?
GREAT!
ReplyDeleteFantastic. Finally we can get a decent curry in the village. Now just need Thai food and a Trader Joe's and we're all set.

DeleteAnd to be clear, by demographics, population, accessibility, size of space, etc. was cited.

ReplyDeleteYes. They're closed now in their Montrose location.
DeleteDo you know where the new location will be?
ReplyDeleteIndia House will send out a notice by email to their list. Until then.....
