Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of
all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our
schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.
Thanks to documents obtained pursuant to a 6/17/14 freedom of information request...here's an important letter from CROTON UNITED'S Joel Gingold on the developing Gouveia property scandal. Please take the time to read it.
To the Editor,
At last week’s Village Board meeting, I
thought I saw flames shooting up from Trustee Ann Gallelli’s chair as,
with a straight face, she told us that she had no knowledge of
what Something Good in the World (SGW) was doing on the Gouveia property
and what SGW’s plans were. Now, in response to a FOIL request, we have a
70-page file of e-mails that Barbara Sarbin, Directorof SGW sent to
Mayor Wiegman and Ms. Gallelli over the past year, and they directly
contradict many of Ms. Gallelli’s statements. And, guess who compiled
the file? None other than our “full time” mayor. So we can’t even be
sure that the file is complete.
The file does not yet
include the e-mails from the mayor and Ms. Gallelli to Ms. Sarbin, but
these may be released in the future. Nonetheless, reading through Ms.
Sarbin’s communications, it is clear that nothing short of a conspiracy
among the mayor, Ms. Gallelli and Ms. Sarbin has existed for the past
twelve months.

Again I have to ask if the rest of the board isnt complicit in all this why aren't they saying anything?
ReplyDeleteSO BAD
ReplyDeleteThe entire Village Board should resign immediately. This is an absolute disgrace, a real breach of the public trust..
ReplyDeleteI just don't understand how this could have happened. If we have two officials deciding among themselves that they can take these actions separate and apart from the board, and pursue their own agendas, where is the outrage from the other board members?
ReplyDeleteHere's something else to think about. If we had to submit freedom of information requests to find THIS out, imagine what else is going on with:
175 Old Post Road and the "shared housing"
HUD and the special permit and God knows what else in Harmon re-zoning
And the big question, the old garbage transfer station.
I wish the DA's office would take a look
ReplyDeleteAt our board.
They are either incompetent or corrupt!!
Who can we contact to take a look at what is going on here? What agency????
ReplyDeleteOffice of Public Integrity????????
