From 1976, another look back at The Niddy Noddy! Thanks as always to one of E.C. elves. For those who don't know, the NIDDY NODDY was a shop here in the village that specialized in knitting and related arts. Click on the images below from The Yonkers Herald.

Everybody loved the Niddy Noddy. I still have my notebook from Mrs. Miller's Knitting Design classes ... always a source of inspiration. She always had HUGE pots of yarn simmering in the dye baths. She would blend yarns, light weights with bulky, alpaca with string-types, or anything else one could think of.. It was a wonderful shop.
ReplyDeleteI worked at the Niddy Noddy in 1982. It was truly a hidden get away place for many women wanting a place to learn the fiber arts. I have fond memories of my time there helping Irene with sales, upkeep, and so much more.
