to drop its plans to use trained sharpshooters to lure and gun down as
many as 75 deer on its 875-acre nature preserve in Yorktown. More than 600 people have signed a petition initiated by Animal

While a youngster growing up close to Teatown in the 1950s, I spent untold hours roaming the woods in that area. Later I earned a Masters degree in forest resources management, an education that taught me the difference between conservation ("Wise Use") versus preservation. Teatown went wrong when it adopted its Peter Rabbit -Bambi "educational" program which they now have to cope with. - Tom Neff
