CROTON MEMORIES 2012: HOLY NAME, THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, & OUR LADY OF FATIMA PROCESSION

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Continuing our CROTON MEMORIES SERIES here at EverythingCroton:  HOLY NAME, THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, & OUR LADY OF FATIMA PROCESSION

A reader of Everything Croton recently wrote to tell us how much she enjoyed the photos from the one year anniversary of the installation of the grotto and procession for Our Lady of Guadalupe (see http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2011/10/photos-our-lady-of-guadalupe.html). She then went on to tell us how in years past, the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name of Mary would have similar processions for Our Lady of Fatima.

We set out to find more—and we did, courtesy of the Croton-on-Hudson Historical Society of course. It somehow seems fitting that one of our editors was able to locate this today--on Mother’s Day! Click on the photo from the 1973 edition of the Cortlandt Croton News.
