GOUVEIA PROPERTY, 6/9 UPDATE

All rights reserved
For those who have asked if the village board has announced whether or not it has formally acquired the Gouveia property--or if it is still "private property", to our knowledge NO such announcement has been made to the public as of this date.

We can tell you however, that the site is closed to the public, that a newly installed sign early last week indicates that it is being prepared for "public use", that numerous heavy equipment has been and is currently on the site, both outside contractor and what appears to be village staff. We have no idea of the costs involved for these services at present and to further prepare this site, per the sign, for "public use". Click on the photo.

To our knowledge, Something Good in the World remains on the property. No special permit application has been received from this entity as of conversations with staff last week.

The last freedom of information request was in February 2015. No application for a special permit from this entity had been received, nor was the non-permitted chicken coop removed, despite assurances from the village since last summer. See the documents here http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2015/02/follow-up-to-chicken-coopillegal.html

6/10 UPDATED: FOIL RESPONSE HAS BEEN RECEIVED; PROPERTY WAS ACQUIRED BY VILLAGE ON 6/4/15. There will be more. http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2015/06/village-took-possession-of-gouveia-6415.html

  1. How do you know Something Good was ever on the property?

  2. Please read the documents obtained pursuant to freedom of information at the link above. The village acknowledges in those documents the presence of Something Good on the site and more to this, village trustees and staff have repeatedly done so elsewhere in multiple forums.

  5. This is another example of a breach of trust between the Village officials and the taxpayers!
