Croton United Member Joel Gingold's June 4, 2015 Letter to the Editor Responds to Leo Wiegman regarding conflicts of interest:

To the Editor,

Oh, come now, Mayor Wiegman. Do you really expect us to believe that there is no looming conflict of interest, or opportunity for you to enhance your personal finances, in your new role as executive director of Sustainable Westchester?

Despite your protests to the contrary, with your recent history of conducting secret negotiations with Something Good in the World, and then lying about it, your falsification of your time records to enable you to force the taxpayers to pay your health insurance premiums, ramming through the Gouveia acquisition without adequate analysis, etc., etc., etc., your credibility in this community is, to be generous, highly suspect.

And you failed to describe how your own company, The Croton Energy Group, fits into this whole picture. You will have to walk a very fine line to keep all of these interests separate, and that certainly hasn’t been your history in the past.

You claim you will recuse yourself from any village board votes in relation to Sustainable Westchester. That gives us very little comfort.
