REMEMBERING THE LATE--& GREAT--JIM MOORE

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Yesterday a reader here at Everything Croton reminded your editor that it will soon be one year since the great Jim Moore died--on December 6th to be exact.

It would be no exaggeration to say that Jim's absence has been keenly felt ever since. His common sense approach to local government shenanigans--his letters to the editor always cut right to the chase--not to mention his wry sense of humor on everything from being an Irish-American (click on the photo!) to the fine art of basketball(!) always made for good conversation.

To put it simply, he is missed.

  2. I knew Jim through his work at the Montrose V.A. and only learned about his passing a few months ago. A more generous and thoughtful man is seldom found these days. He believed in public service for public service sake, was devout without being overbearing, he wore his beliefs well and practiced them thoughtfully. He could make even the grouchiest person smile.
