This marvelous War Bond Window display, with village and train, comes to us from the Canadian vintage Christmas collecting contingent, courtesy of the Huron Museum, no known copyright restrictions. A beaut!
It's followed by a wonderful piece of Marx tinplate: the Marx Dick Tracy police station, 1952 from a previous auction at Croton's own Serioustoyz.com
It sold for over $590! 6 x 9", car is 7.5”; crank handle, "the doors fly open
& the squad car dashes to the rescue"; car has minor roof dents
& 2 small paint chips; station has typical warping to plastic, o/w
NM in colorful C7.5 box w/ all inserts, a scarce toy in this condition. If you have serious stuff, SeriousToyz has serious bidders!

Yes Virginia, while RADKO is no longer making putz house repros, you can still get new old stock at Mister Nostalgia! http://www.misternostalgia.zoovy.com/category/christmas.villages/
And you HAVE to check this one out http://www.christmasadventhouse.com/index.cfm
So happy about the Radko putz house link. Thank you!

I'm thinking that an advent putz, or maybe even an advent putz village with each house having 4 or more windows and doors to open might be fun. I won't be the one building it, though. :-)
ReplyDeleteOooh, maybe one using my tinplate candy box storefronts, would be doable.
