As
Croton is one of 7, now 6, communities that HUD/the monitor have cited
as having "exclusionary" and or "restrictive" zoning (Croton is one of
these by way of the special permit provision in Harmon re-zoning--AND
POSSIBLY the bedroom restrictions), an article appeared in today's LOHUD/JOURNAL NEWS on Leg. Kaplowitz's recent activities:
Astorino pushes back against Westchester legislators on fair housing--Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino....reiterated Thursday that he will
fight the county board’s efforts to resolve one of the major conflicts
in the implementation of the 2009 fair housing settlement. You can read more here http://bit.ly/1kFaAcl but before you do....
In that article, it was noted that County Executive Astorino sent a letter to the municipalities. That letter was obtained today from the village pursuant to a freedom of information request. There is much to be concerned about in this letter, and you are urged to read it. Click on the scans below to read it and one of the attachments that accompanied it. The others will be placed online as necessary. Note the comments about bedroom restrictions, density, multi-family housing (limitations like special permits for example vs. as of right), Section 8 limitations, etc. THIS POST IS CLOSED TO ALL COMMENTS.
