You never know what you’ll find at The Croton-on-Hudson
Historical Society—Part Six. We
continue to be simply amazed at the wonderful things to be found at The Croton
Historical Society. The care, enthusiasm and knowledge of our volunteers just
can’t be beat…so when we heard that Allen Funt of Candid Camera fame had lived
in the village on Mt. Airy Road—and we just had to know more—all we had to do
was ask--and ta-da!
Click
on the photo and article (1960) below to read all about it. Again, many thanks to the
historical society for this very pleasant trip down memory lane.

So different from today's prurient television fare. We will never see his like again, and that's a shame.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. Some of these shows today are downright cruel. There's no sense of moderation, shame, or whatever, commentary is mean spirited if not downright libelous, and so forth. That was a show the whole family could watch.
ReplyDeleteAllen Funt! Now there's a name I haven't heard in years - a blast from the past. The 'Candid Camera' format is still being copied the world over and is evident from Kutcher's 'Punked' to long running shows in Europe.
