PART FOUR: YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL FIND AT THE CROTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

You never know what you’ll find at The Croton-on-Hudson Historical Society. Thanks to the generosity of residents, the archives are not only filled with the history of our village, but with postcards, magazines, books and more on everyday life—the stuff of future Society exhibits.

Click on the photo to see an amazing 1888 French Fashion plate in very good condition from a women’s publication known as Petersen’s Magazine--and click on the link to see the corsets that went along with it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/22283683@N07/7398278748/in/photostream/

Now this was unexpected!  See more antique fashion plates here: http://www.printsoldandrare.com/fashion/

The Cornelia Cotton Gallery (271-6802, 111 Grand Street) also has antique fashion plates for sale.

  1. Those dresses are beautiful but they look really uncomfortable, not to mention the corsets. Still if I had to choose one for a special occasion, I'd go with the pink one.
