CROTON UNITED MEMBER PAUL STEINBERG'S 5/7 GAZETTE LETTER
To the Editor:
Brian Powers (4/30 Gazette)
makes some valid factual points, but he is wrong in his criticism of
Leo Wiegman. I do not always agree with the Mayor, but on this point
custom and practice are on Mr. Wiegman's side.
Mr. Powers details
the connections between commercial for-profit solar companies and
suggests that there is something improper with Mayor Wiegman using his
official position to further his personal interests.
It is true
that the Mayor has private commercial interests promoting solar power,
as does Mr. Pugh. It is also true that the office of the Mayor has
become an adjunct of Mr. Wiegman's company insofar as large amounts of
ostensibly "official" time are spent on matters dovetailing with Mr.
Wiegman's personal business rather than municipal business.
And
the Mayor did submit false official timesheets charging as "village"
time attendance at a solar meeting that he did not even attend. That was
wrong, and to his credit the Mayor did correct his timesheets when he
was caught. READ THE REST OF THIS LETTER HERE https://www.facebook.com/notes/croton-united/croton-united-member-paul-steinbergs-may-7-2015-letter-to-the-editor/444796579010712
