You can learn alot from old advertisements. Case in point, this ad for the 1943 Swiss Windmill Weather Forecaster--because "weather reports have been banned for the duration" (of the war). It never occurred to any of us that weather reports would have been banned during WWII--but here it is in black and white--and why, for the sum of 98 cents, every family needed a "Windmill" forcaster.
