Rosemary Clooney was a very big deal in our house. Click on the scan to see a promo from 1958 for The Lux Show. And of course we loved her in White Christmas...you can read more about Clooney here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosemary_Clooney

Now here's a real treat for all you vintage Christmas light collectors and enthusiasts...the 1931 General Electic Christmas Lighting Guide courtesy of Jeff Carter. Great Art Deco cover...Jeff says: "This is one of the
earliest guides - if not the earliest - to promote Christmas
lighting. The C6 cone shaped, series lamps had only been on the market
a little over a decade and the C9 multiple bulbs were only five
seasons old. The multiple burning C7 were another couple of years from
being introduced. The Great Depression was beginning to take hold but
many municipalities and business associations were looking for ways to
lighten peoples mood and give them hope and encourage to spend what
little money they did have. Enjoy this Art Deco guide to Christmas
Lighting and some of the earliest examples of residential and
commercial Christmas Lighting." Click on the link http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeffcarter629/sets/72157635788383523/
