Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our
history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of
worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.
TRUSTEE WALSH ADDRESSES RECENT ACCUSATION BY JOHN McBRIDE. THE FOLLOWING LETTER APPEARS IN THE 6/23 EDITION OF THE GAZETTE...
To the editor:
Last week John McBride, former chair of both the Croton Democratic
Party and the Cortlandt Democratic Party, wrote a letter to the Gazette
accusing the Croton United Trustees of violating a New York State Village
Law when we voted recently to approve a payment to a village resident for damage
done to that resident's property by a village contractor. The Village
Attorney was involved in the discussion before a decision was made on this
issue. After I read Mr. McBride's letter, I spoke to the Village
Attorney, who confirmed that the board did not violate either the law that
was cited or any other law.
I wish that people would come to me directly to ask clarifying questions
or discuss their position if they do not understand why I am doing something,
rather than make accusations in either the Gazette or online. If Mr. McBride
had come forward, either when the matter was discussed at a work session, or
when it was being voted on at our regular meeting, his questions could have
been addressed by the Village Attorney directly.
Working together starts with open and honest communication.
Ken Walsh, Trustee,
Village of Croton-on-Hudson
Why is it the same establishment cast of characters always try to spin the truth. It's about time Croton United replied to these phony innuendos! Let's face it. McBride and his cronies have been on a rant since they lost the election last November. This is nothing more than a bunch of sore losers defaming Croton United in advance of the next election.
ReplyDeleteNot surpised.
ReplyDeleteRemember this, found guilty two years in a row:
For immediate release - Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee Rules That Croton Democratic Party Engaged in Unfair Campaign Practices
Ruling on a complaint by mayor-elect Gregory Schmidt, the Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee has found “unfair” statements made by the Croton Democratic Party in both a mailer and online during the last week of the recent Village of Croton-on-Hudson elections. This is the second consecutive election in which the committee has cited the Croton Democratic Party for unfair practices. http://www.crotonunited.org/blog-n/2015/11/16/westchester-county-fair-campaign-practices-committee-rules-that-croton-democratic-party-engaged-in-unfair-campaign-practices
What grace and style!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ken. We never believe anything they write after the league of women vot. decisions especially.
ReplyDeleteI just got back from a little vacation in Florida with friends and family. Weplan to move this year. In all the years I have lived in Croton, I have seen far too much of this in the last twenty years and I won't miss that part of life here. If you're going to accuse people of breaking the law or a specific law, you best know what you're talking about. and if you really believed a law was broken, why didnt you bring in the people who could prosecute.
