CROTON VILLAGE BOARD TO ADD ZINC ORTHOPHOSPHATE--ZOP--TO WATER SUPPLY

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

On 5/19/14, the village board of trustees had a work session; on that work session were 4 items; you can see what they were here http://crotononhudson.novusagenda.com/MeetingView.aspx?MeetingID=233&MinutesMeetingID=-1

CROTON TO ADD ANTI CORROSIVE TO VILLAGE WATER

After being stalled for several years, a proposal for the Village of Croton on Hudson to begin adding an anti-corrosive to its water supply appears to be back on track.

AT A WORK SESSION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES MONDAY NIGHT (5/19).....

The article goes into lengthy discussion of the democrat's prior vociferous opposition to the addition of ZOP to the water supply when it was first discussed by former mayor Greg Schmidt and the Republican board majority at that time.

Apparently.....things are different now.  Read the article on page 1. THE WORK SESSION AUDIOTAPE is still not online.

No matter where you stand on this issue, it would have been nice—in the spirit of “open government” of course—to at least have been told.

  2. My thanks to the Gazette. Otherwise we still wouldn't know. What does it take to get an audiotape or a videotape online these days?

  3. This is so not funny. Like so many things here, whatever way the wind blows. I guess not telling anybody must have made that work session a lot better, for them. Time for more freedom of information requests.

  4. Actually I think it's pretty hilarious. All those comments thanking the democrats and Mayor Wiegman for "not poisoning the water". That famous comment from a former trustee telling everyone to vote for candidates who said nay to Z.O.P. Wonder if those same people who hated this idea when it was a "Republican" idea, will have anything to say now that an all democrat board is for it. Come on, you can figure out the answer.
