  1. A shame that we have to go out of town to see what we once had in the village: real old fashioned patriotism, pride, a parade, and involvement of everyone on this important day. I miss that.

    1. It really is very sad. Newer people, many of whom come here only for the schools and then leave, don't seem to have the same kind of long term investment or pride in the community on the whole, not just the schools. The village has changed so much, the agenda of the village's officials only for personal gain, that I seldom attend any vets services here, going instead to Buchanan or the Town of Cortlandt. At least there officials know what is the right thing to say at the podium and how to dress for solemn occassions.
