Local Lucy Ball collector Tom Dankin has reminded us that today Lucille Ball would have been 100!
We loved I LOVE LUCY. Still do when we find re-runs of the show.
Who could forget the Vita-meta-veg-amin commercial, her star-struck forays with Harpo Marx, Cornel Wilde and Superman, or the birth of "Little Ricky".
Tom has kindly forwarded some links in tribute. Enjoy:

P.S. Click the photo for the 1953 I Love Lucy bedroom suite advertisement--note the single bed--not 2 like on the television show!
Remember the one where she was a showgirl who couldn't handle the oversized headpiece?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was when their husbands had clothing made out of burlap sacks since both were so into French designer clothing and said they were by some famous French guy.
ReplyDeleteThe Richard Widmark big game episode where Lucy hides under the bear rug is a classic.
ReplyDeleteThe pantomine routine with Harpo Marx was a tour de farce. The chickens episode when they moved to Connecticut, and Lucy on the lawnmower.
ReplyDeleteThe lawnmower episode was hysterical, replacing the tulips with wax ones. Do they even make wax fruit anymore, lol.
