REMEMBERING WILLIAM HOLDEN

Who died this date in 1981. Holden was one of the biggest box office draws of the 1950s and won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1953 for Stalag 17.

Holden starred in some of Hollywood's most popular and critically acclaimed films, including such blockbusters as Sunset Boulevard, The Bridge on the River Kwai, The Wild Bunch, Picnic, The Towering Inferno, and Network. Read more about Holden here.

Your editor also recommends that you see The World of Suzie Wong--click on the photo--a film that has developed quite a cult following in the last few decades.  Trigger Alert---this movie reflects the times it was created in---if that sort of thing gives you the vapors, just move along.....

As for Sunset Boulevard, William Holden, and Croton's Glora Swanson, read more about that at https://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2018/12/1950-more-on-crotons-gloria-swanson-her.html
