THOSE MARVELOUS MONARCHS

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Thanks to Rob Armanini of FEED THE BIRDS! for this great shot of a monarch butterfly visiting the village's flower barrels in Harmon. (CLICK ON THE PHOTO.) Lantana is not only beautiful but attracts butterflies as well--on another note, this year's flowers have never looked better--thank you Mary http://bit.ly/2vqsPwE

  1. We have this plant in a more pink combination and the hummingbirds love it.

  2. A PSA from "Feed the Birds!"
This is our 7th summer here, and we've never seen monarch butterflies (nor bees), go to the curbside whiskey barrels. Activity has been constant over the last week. So we're thinking for next year, we'll go along & do ALL lantana hanging baskets at the shop...long-lasting blooms, easier to deal with PLUS they're a great plant for pollinators.
Pollinators need all the help we can give them, and this is such a great & easy way of doing exactly that!
