Just got a reminder that your editor hasn't checked in lately at one of our favorite sites--EUROPEAN FILM STAR POSTCARDS--from our friends on "the other side"...so here goes:
--SOME VERY RARE POSTCARDS FROM MOTHER RUSSIA (including the one to the right featuring Vera Karalli--a Bolshoi Theatre ballerina who went on to become one of Russia's first celebrated film actresses; click on the photo). Check out more assorted and very rare Russian postcards here http://bit.ly/1Lla1Pn
--IMPORTED FROM THE U.S.A.: GORDON SCOTT, better known as the "11th" Tarzan here in the states but who also enjoyed a successful European film career http://filmstarpostcards.blogspot.com/2015/08/imported-from-usa-gordon-scott.html
--DER SCHUT 1964 http://filmstarpostcards.blogspot.com/2015/08/der-schut-1964.html
Thanks, Maria!
ReplyDeleteThese Russian postcards are collected by Didier Hanson, from Spain. He has sent us lots of scans of his rare, vintage postcards from the era of the Czar. Pictures of legends like Stanislavski, Gorky, Anna Pavlova and of the first Russian film stars, many of whom fled in 1918 to France. Amazing. We were thrilled to receive the scans.
Lots of love from Amsterdam! Paul.
