For all those concerned about their personal data,
Sustainable Westchester, and much more, please take a moment to read an
important Gazette letter from Croton United's Joel Gingold:
To the Editor,
A few months ago, when the Community
Choice Aggregation (CCA) electricity program was announced, a number of
people expressed their concerns to me over having their personal Con Ed
account data provided to the village or to Sustainable Westchester (SW),
the program manager. I told them that there was no reason for this
since the aggregated data for the whole community was all that was
necessary for SW to obtain responsive bids. But to make sure, I sent a
note to the village board asking just this question.
Shortly
thereafter, I received a response from none other than Mayor Leo
Wiegman that stated, “You are right. We only need the aggregate usage
data from ConEdison for the energy procurement bid process. Later, at
the end of the process, the account level information (how many
kilowatt-hours used at the Wiegman or Gingold residence) will be shared
only between ConEdison and the compliant bidder chosen by each city,
town or village. Neither the Village nor Sustainable Westchester will
see that level of detail.”
Since Mr. Wiegman is not only
the mayor of Croton, but also the executive director of SW, he should
certainly know all the details of the program, so I felt confident in
telling those concerned citizens not to worry, that their personal data
would never go to the village or SW. READ MORE OF GINGOLD'S LETTER HERE https://www.facebook.com/notes/croton-united/joel-gingolds-gazette-letter-on-the-community-choice-aggregation-program/484126735077696
