Very exciting finds at the Peekskill Attic Treasures flea market on Sunday--TWO LIONEL TRAIN CATALOGs--one from 1975, the other from 1976; click on the photo. Lots of "putzing inspiration" for our crafters. Hope to have the catalogs scanned for the next FOR TRAIN LOVERS ONLY here at Everything Croton.
Updated: see more of the catalog here http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2013/04/for-train-lovers-only-2013-10.html

A reader who inherited a number of putz houses from her aunt asks: How do you know what size window and door replacements to get? Answer--get a sampler pack--click on the link--and scroll down the page at CardboardPutzHouseDotCom http://www.cardboardputzhouses.com/marketplace/cellophane/cellowindows.htm

Here's an irony, the yellow tinplate H&H house was replicated almost exactly in Bachmann's Plasticville Cape Cod house, popular in the 1950s.
ReplyDeleteA while back, Howard Lamey and I created the resources to make a "lackie" version of the Lionel tinplate Cape Cod houses. Then we adapted those resources to make one that was more or less a tribute to the Plasticville one as well. If seeing the yellow tinplate house whet your appetite for more, check out the Howard's How-To article at:

Best of luck, all,
