CHHS IN THE NEWS: MAX DIAMOND, AMANDA & JENNIFER FEIGIN, GENEVIEVE LEWIS, SHANE NOLAN

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Five Croton-Harmon High School students were selected to participate in the Westchester Science and Engineering Fair (WESEF) and the Westchester-Rockland Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, two of the region’s most prestigious forums for high school students to showcase their advanced science research skills. Over 350 students from 33 area high schools presented their science research projects at WESEF, hosted at Sleepy Hollow High School and adjudicated by local experts. Similar in concept and structure, the regional JSHS was held at John Jay High School in Katonah. Under the guidance of science research teacher Donna Light-Donovan, students Max Diamond, Amanda Feigin, Jennifer Feigin, Genevieve Lewis and Shane Nolan investigated scientific challenges of their choice, working with professional mentors. Through individual and team poster presentations, they exhibited their research and explained their conclusions before an audience of judges with expertise in the fields of environmental studies, psychology, engineering, life science and physical science. Max placed second in the engineering category, Jennifer placed fourth in the behavior category, Genevieve placed third in the medicine and health category and Shane won the U.S. Army Award, all at WESEF. Although she did not win an award, Amanda fared well at WR-JSHS. READ MORE HERE http://bit.ly/16iV0Xx

  1. With all the bad news we've read in the paper lately about kids going in the wrong direction, it's nice to read something like this.
