PHOTOS, GIOVANNI'S ITALIAN-AMERICAN DELICATESSAN & PASTRIES, SOFT OPENING

Welcome to EverythingCroton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EverythingCroton.

GIOVANNI'S ITALIAN-AMERICAN DELICATESSAN & PASTRIES had its soft opening yesterday (stay tuned for their Grand Opening in the next few weeks--they'll be set up with credit and debit then, and their pastry production will be in full swing).

We were very pleased to see that they carry a number of artisanal Italian products found only in the city: Susanna's Shortbread fruit cookies in several flavors, Roland's Wine Jellies (including balsamic--try that on a toasted piece of Italian bread on a cold day) and the Don Bruno line of artisanal pastas. We also hear they make an amazing panini. Stay tuned for more. Contact info below.

  1. Those butterscotch cookies are incredible. I used to get them when I worked in Park Slope, thanks.

  2. Nice shots. Will give them a try. How are they making out with the removal of the parking?

  4. Well I don't know about the best, I like A&S for certain things, but I do have to admit I had a great panini there. Panninis are supposed to be FLAT and this place makes them the way they are supposed to be made. They're friendly, they're convenient on the way to the train since I leave so early, and it's a pleasant place to sit. The outside is very tastefully done. Can you post their hours please? A nice addition to Harmon. Linda
