Artist in Residence, Tim Robinson:
Starting as a successful editorial illustrator from 1990 through the 2020’s, Tim has recently returned, more and more, to the joy of pure painting. His oils of the surrounding landscape and woodlands, and the hills and wildlife nearby, are widely collected both locally and regionally. Tim has progressively taken more liberty with color and form as he depicts scenes in our local wilderness, trying to paint the woods as we remember them, rather than obsessing about the literal. These paintings are meant to convey the peace and beauty of the woods, the local landscape, and the wildlife as it reveals to us (just visitors) what will continue, as always, when we are gone. These are efforts to paint the land as it is, without us.
