More than two years after the last official Building Inspector moved on, the Village of Larchmont continues to operate without one. Here’s how it happened:

When Dan Gray left the position in 2023, the village decided to fold the job into the Village Engineer’s position, essentially combining the two. Then a consultant recently recommended eliminating the full-time Village Engineer’s position as an efficiency measure, which the Board of Trustees has done.
