The new owners plan to submit their proposed project to the village early in the New Year. They have been meeting with local neighbors to explain their concept. NY education officials: Regionalization plan will not be mandatory
Schools will have the ability to opt-in or out of the school regionalization plan, according to state education officials.
The New York State Education Department’s proposed regionalization plan would encourage schools to share resources across districts – a proposal that some parents said would erode local control of districts.
Under the proposal, districts would fill out a "strength and needs" survey, and a plan to share services would be developed.
Critics argue that regionalization could dilute the quality of education in districts and impact their ability to make decisions that best serve their students.
Betty A. Rosa, the state commissioner of education, said in a letter that the public comment period has concluded and added two revisions. One of which is a “voluntary participation acknowledgement.”
It states:
“To address concerns about mandatory participation, a new provision will be added, which allows districts in consultation with their school boards, to elect not to participate in the regionalization planning process by submitting written notification by January 15, 2025

New York City officials are reacting to a bombshell new report by The Post that shows an alarming 58,626 migrants with felony records or facing criminal charges are freely roaming the Big Apple, with some 670,000 in total across the country. Out of the 759,218 illegal border-crossers who now call the five boroughs home, 7.7% were either previously convicted of crimes or had criminal charges pending, according to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data.

But instead of rounding up and deporting tens of thousands of known criminals, critics say the city has rolled out the red carpet with its asylum policies, providing free lodgings, money for food and even one-way plane tickets anywhere in the world. Then Europe imported her. After marrying Prince Rainier III in April 1956, she became Princess of Monaco and retired from the cinema.
