FIRST UP, courtesy of IMMORTAL EPHEMERA, an outstanding collection of vintage cigarette cards featuring--among others--Croton's own Gloria Swanson in Perfect Understanding with Laurence Olivier etal.

NEXT UP, courtesy of a vintage CASHBOX magazine, an ad from 1950, Peter Seeger, Croton's Lee Hayes, a'la The Weavers.

Goodnight Irene and Tzena, Tzena, Tzena were big hits at the time.

And finally a fab 1953 ad for Jackie Gleason--also a very talented musician. For those who don't know, Gleason lived in nearby Cortlandt in a famous mid-century modern "round" house--and was a frequent visitor to Croton.   Read more here.
