MORE RECENTLY UNEARTHED BITS & PIECES ABOUT CROTON NOTABLES: PETER FRAMPTON, GLORIA SWANSON, LENORE ULRIC AND VERA NEUMANN

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton -- our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools -- in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

SOME MORE RECENTLY UNEARTHED BITS & PIECES ABOUT CROTON NOTABLES: PETER FRAMPTON, GLORIA SWANSON, LENORE ULRIC AND VERA NEUMANN--click on the photos and links.

First up, PETER FRAMPTON!

For those who don't know, Frampton lived right outside the village but was a frequent visitor. Read more here.

HERE'S Frampton today--or rather from 2011--AT THE 2011 OTTAWA BLUES FEST--courtesy of our way up north Flickr friend Sylvain Nadeau...

Nadeau has created a super Flickr album of photos from the event; see them all here

Next up, Croton's own Gloria Swanson (see photos from her Croton home here) in the 1924 Allan Dwan production of A SOCIETY SCANDAL which also starred Rod La Rocque

Distributed by Paramount Pictures, the film is based on a 1922 play The Laughing Lady, by Alfred Sutro which starred Ethel Barrymore in 1923 on Broadway. A Society Scandal is considered a lost film.

Next up, a fabulous 1924 ad for Croton's Lenore Ulric in David Belasco's Tiger Rose.

(Read more about Ulric--her Harmon home is mentioned here as well--at  https://bit.ly/2AgF7tI)

For those who don't know: Tiger Rose is a 1923 American silent adventure romance film produced and distributed by the Warner Brothers. It is based on Willard Macks 1917 Broadway play starring Lenore Ulric. Ulric reprises her role in this silent film version. The SilentEra database lists this film as surviving. YOU CAN READ MORE HERE.

And finally a 1978 article on Croton's Vera Neumann

YOU CAN ALSO SEE EXAMPLES OF HER ISLAND WORCESTER POTTERY HERE
